Gourmet Gorilla is a food service provider to schools in the Chicagoland area focused on providing fresh, healthy meals and organic snacks that make kids happy and parents satisfied.

Gourmet Gorilla decided it was time for a brand redesign that embraced their namesake, with a goal of catering messaging towards their audience of school administrators/ parents while having a playful, curious brand that kids would enjoy eating. Below is the evolution from the old logo to the new logo that incorporates the organic nature of the original fruit shape in the abstract gorilla icon that has become the brand mascot. Additionally, the typeface and all caps were chosen to take on the brand voice and personality.

Above are various logo layouts necessary for their various places across web, social, packaging, apparel, and more. Below are a few pages from the brand guidelines I designed for utilizing the brand assets properly, including pages on logo color variations and acceptable backgrounds. It was important with a fun and funky brand to write rules and instructions to show the logo in the best light and not overdo things with color and patterns that clash or are too busy.
Gourmet Gorilla needed to update all of their brand materials for food packaging, vehicle wraps, uniforms, presentations, menus, social, email, website, and more over time which allowed me to control the brand cohesiveness and make sure everything was flexible for a variety of uses.
